Post-Publication Discussion and Complaints
MEBIS welcomes constructive, evidence-based scholarly discussion of published research. Readers, authors, and other researchers may communicate substantial methodological, analytical, ethical, or interpretative concerns to the editorial office through the official contact channel.
Correspondence should identify the article, explain the specific issue, and provide supporting evidence or references. The editorial team evaluates whether the concern warrants a response from the authors, an editorial note, a formal correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction. Submissions that are defamatory, abusive, irrelevant, or unsupported may be declined.
When a substantive comment is accepted for public publication, the journal may invite a response from the original authors and assess both the comment and response for accuracy, fairness, and relevance. Any published discussion must clearly identify the original article and be linked to it whenever technically feasible.
Complaints regarding editorial process should be submitted with a concise explanation and evidence. A complaint involving an editor should be reviewed by an unconflicted editor or publisher representative. This procedure does not guarantee publication of letters or comments, but it provides a route for responsible academic scrutiny.
